Thomas Aquinas

Recently i had been exporing the Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas the foremost scholar of Catholicism .. The Summa represents an encyclopaedia of articles that were written defending and reaffirming the correct stance with regards to the nature of God, principles of faith etc.. within the Catholic realm ..

Thomas defended the understanding of God that in some ways can be deemed as islamic Thomas going against other Catholic questioners and fitting interpretation of the bible to suit his stance. His dialogue/knowledge of Averoes and Ghazali is well known .. the infinite nature of God is reaffirmed and his Magnificence and Mercy also ....

One has to wonder how much influence the Muslim scholars had upon Thomas .... One can only wonder ..... his influence from the islamic scholars

Just as the book by Miskawy on the early theories of evolution were translated into English in 1821 and we wonder of how much that knowledge transpired onto Darwin, or the Literature influences of Persian literature and islamic hadith upon the "classics" plays of Europe .... The unfortunate Copernicus of Poland was "found out" caught red handed, in that his "plagiarism" was too exact but at the same time not citing any references when borrowing material .....

When medical knowledge was shipped too Europe as well as the translated works of the greeks and hellenistic thought via the "translation movement" Europe may be hiding somewhat more than can be seen ,,,,

On the truth of Religion and God

Surely any truth must be universal and simplistic based on a principal inline with human nature ..

added Complexity should be dismissed as untruth.

Truth should encompass all social classes.

Truth should adhere to a simple principle.

Philosophy

Wittgenstein made a remarkable statement in his "Tractus" That the role of ethics, religion, mystical etc.. cannnot be used within philoshophy i.e, they are non sensensical when used within it, that the subject is transcendal and cannot be remarked upon with language .... Truth tables cannot be used since they and step out of the realm of this argument form ..

P (AND) Q = Z

If the prepositions are true then the answer (result) is truth ... but what if the prepositions have their own framework for deducing truth .... and they exist within another framework of another sort of truth .... The framework that has limits, have a frameowork well defined ...

This is a remarkable staement by Wittgenstein on the truth of "ethics" ...

I say they step outside the realm of logical deduction, Wittgenstein proposed a world of pictures .... language being limited ... explanation of the picutures being limited with language which is the goemetric projection between the pictures and the world ...

Morality, the world, like, death, surely they are above the realm of philosophical deduction, since they can be easily dismissed with the limited use of the written word and truth may be subjective, it may be qualitiative and dismissed with the written word ...

Maybe the nature of man cannot be expressed with philosophical deduction since the the variables concerned maybe so many and cross boundaries that they may not be viable to place within the limited framework of the truth being constructed .

Wittgenstein proposed that philosophy should be a tool to sharpen, make clear and distinct reality, as opposed to the cause of confusion .. .a novel thought.

Truth is also much clearer to some than others, take for example demonic posssession "or" in the west we call then "Ghosts" .. this is an unwritten "Truth" "fact" "undeniable" to the peoples of the East, they live with it as reality in life, and is in fact a science within their cultures i.e. in the case of Exorcism ... but for the peoople in the west this is "falshood" "imaginary" etc...
Truth in this case when deducing will have to cross cultural boundaries ...

Robert Enke

The sad loss of Robert Enke (Hannover FC captain) to depression resurfaced the ugly head of a disease ...

Depression is a much misunderstood condition, a friend once told me, those who are depressed should "snap out of it" ..... Schizophrenia similarly was once misunderstood until relatively recently, for the case of schizophrenia doctors and practitioners would go about treating one part of the brain that they "thought" was the root cause of the disease ..... until they found that Schizophrenia affected all parts of the brain, in a complex internetwork like fashion .... deeming it almost untreatable by previous methods ...

They may also find a similar link with the case of depression, that the "complexity" of the disease is ye tto be fully understood .

Iranians

The Iranians, i know what you are thinking, Iran, Persia etc. but the Iranian ethnicity at least as far as etno-linguistics is concerned spreads far beyond the current borders of iran .. ethno-linguistically the Pashtuns, Tajiks, Baluch, Hazaras etc. all fall within the Iranian spectrum .. The contribution to humanity of Persian speakers in unquestionable, Biruni, Khwarezam, Rumi etc. are all credited with major honors. The masses do not know linguistically that Baluchi ,Tajiki, Pasthun are pure iranian languages.

But an important note is that they were born outside of present day iran, i.e. in Afghanstan, Takistan, Uzbekistan etc.

Just as Arabs from all parts of the planet call themseleves Arabs why don't the Iranian speakers call each other Iranian rather than specifically by our locality (which is being more divided) Persian was replaced as the lingua franca for many iranian speakers, who spoke mainly other Eastern iranian languages ..the "East" being the old east of the vast iranian plateau.

Persian spread into the indian subcontinent was the Dari(Afghan) form ... rather than the iranian spoken in present day iran .. The Samanid empire formed the nationalistic renaissance for Iranians against Turkic expression and from there rivaled Baghdad for learning and Eminence which was from outside of iran as present day iran society was not fruitful for its evolution. Thereafter many of the learned scholars of islam stemmed which contributed to Islamic civilization stemmed from there ... Imaam Bukhari just to mention one and the others mentioned above ....
The Hindu Shahis Of Kabul, Kambojas, Asponosai (400 BC) are thought to be iranians who fought Alexander to stop him in his trail .... still the contribution of Iranian character is forgotten in its true sense !

Democracy

Ever since the greek democraces created the idea of democracy it has been heralded by european civilization as the end of all systems and ways of life. The fall out Europe encountered with Christianity or the evolved form of St. Paul and his followers did much to cement that idea.

Still everywhere you hear on the media and peoples opinions reflect the "democratic" idea for humanity so much so uttering in defiance of this ideals renders someone almost guity of Treason going against the state.

the ex-president (and assasinated) of the once "free" chechnya said that "Churchill said, Democracy is the worst form of governance but it is the best thing we have" So why do they want "us" to have it. Isn't it also ironic that America was founded as a Constitutional Republic, where Rights, human Rights, could not be taken away. The founding fathers hated the Democratic ideal so much so that they thought it was the worst form of Governance. Buy Why ? Since 51% of the people could control 49% of the people !!. Rights could be taken away at will and control could so easily be delivered by the richest amongst them. It is amazing how the founding fathers of America would nowadays be admonished for their Wisdom.

To the questioner : We believe in islamic law because we have a book (that is divinely received directly from God) do you claim democracy as having a divine origin? So is democracy divinely revealed and the saviour for mankind without hesitation ?

...So what is the better instrument to solidify/unite the people but upon the word of God .... Amen

Poetry 1

On the passers by

Here the call of the Muazzin
People deafened to its Magnificence
Cannot understands its purity
Cannot comprehend its meaning
Or do they ignore it?
In arrogance?
The glitter of the world they fall to, Whilst the callers cry rings on..

in reference to the masses who walk pass the caller of the prayer(Muazzin) in hordes.

To Struggle

Hard is this struggle
In a land that is diseased with the souls of ungodliness
Men who fear, cowards are many
For the one who worships his Lord there is no compromise

In reference to anyone who strives in a land who ultimately hold secular ideals as the primary goal for mankind

The normal muslim

They stare at me with glances of curiosity
You pray? I affirm
A smile stretches across their face
a stranger they have seen
While they carry on in their ignorant state

In reference to the many occasions when i was asked in astonishment "You pray?" As if the questioner was admitting his guilt ... i was angered often by this as i could see by the very question being asked that the worship of God by man was something of an exception .... an i never wanted to be the exception.

The traveller

Tired of this desire and lust that haunts me
Tired of its shackles and chains that embraces me
cannot overcome this affliction that has befallen me
Release me from this anguish, Lord of the heavens and the earth
For i cannot comprehend your magnificence
Glamour and delusions diverts me
Travelled to countries before uttered in bemusement
Into cultures of empires that have perished
but what am i running from
From myself. From my soul, my heart
from which there is no escape
