I had my eyes opened up, is the UK a Christian Country ?
What i admire about America is their affinity with God ... The Christian values which do not exist in the UK. The simple mannerisms of praising God and saying God bless you is something shared among both Muslims and Christians alike.
Is the U.K. totally devoid of this ...
Someone told me, that the all "polls" such as the Gallop poll and Census determining what religion you follow are FLAWED.
By leaving out the vital question, that is, "Do you believe Jesus is the Son of God"
in his opinion the majority would answer with a resounding "No!"
Therefore rendering its (UK) inhabitants as "Non-Christian" ... Contradicting all "Polls" on the subject.

Slavery and the European and Islamic Cultural Context
An ideological attack is occurring against Islam, one that masks the truth of the transatlantic slave trade.
It aims to mark the European transatlantic slave as just another enslavement example in history and at the same time draw the Arab (often stated as Islamic) world into the same frame as "Guilty" by association" in slavery. This is just another devious lie amongst many other lies in such as the one hiding the real spiritual, moral, intellectual and ethical foundations that has given to Europe its birth.
What are the differences that make the European(Christian) transatlantic slave trade so unique ? Well we shall delve into some details.
The Eurpean transatlantic slave trade is very unique purely because of the size of enslaved people, "tyranny", "racism", "focus on a continent", "exploitation", "death", "torture" and "mobilization". Approximately 12 million people were shipped across and an estimated 100 million + effected. So as Muslims we need to be aware of some facts.
To differentiate Slavery within the Islamic cultural context and that of the European transatlantic slave trade is a difficult one. Because the differences are in the "details" and "subtleties" which often makes the distinction masked in this "slogan" orientated world.
First we need to understand that not all slavery is the same, just as we cannot Lump all Religions into one. Two religions can be vastly different in their details, history and belief and so i think is the case similarly with the topic of slavery.
Some global principles of note
- Slavery existed in every part of the world since ancient times. Iranian, Roman, Greek, Chinese and Arabs and others all partook in some form of Slavery.
- In the Islamic world, slavery was not by skin colour, for example, Turkic slaves were common in being the slaves of Central Asia and so were Greeks , ibn Battutta (the 13 the Century traveller) notes this in his travels . Arabs were themselves enslaved by fellow Arabs. Africans by fellow Africans, European slaves "Slavs" were also common since the age of Roman.
- In Islam, slave "trading" was not in itself sanctioned. Slavery was allowed via the prisoner of War Scenario/Captives taken through war. So it was not a money making institution as in the case of the transatlantic slave trade.
- The Quran and hadiths (sayings of the prophets) teaches the meritorious (highly praiseworthy) act of freeing slaves. Freeing slaves is to the level of a highly praised act of Worship for the individual.
- Islam denigrated the institution of slavery to the point that slavery became almost nonexistent in parts of the Islamic world and was never a highly held institution AND when Islam came the "freeing" of slaves became an institution in itself.
Why the European transatlantic slave trade was the worst form of slavery.
- The Volume of slavery
In the mobilization of slaves approximately 2 million died in the ships during the transport to the new World itself. this is a huge figure taken that the "World population" at that time was estimated at 400-500 million.
- The treatment of slaves
Islam introduced rights for the slaves, Salves had rights which came from God. Many sayings of the prophet talk about the treatment of slaves and their God given rights.
From the prophets (Mohammad) last sermon
The sayings of the prophet teaches "That all man is equal before God"
"... All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any
superiority over white except by piety and good action...." (Last Sermon)
Again, this in stark contrast to the transatlantic Empire slaves who were considered sub human and based on the "Slave Code".
- the enduring "Racism" the product of the transatlantic slave trade.
1964 Oxford union debate, Malcolm X, made his famous statement of "by any means necessary for justice". So racism and extremism was an institution and part and parcel of Europe and the New World until very recently. Itself an end product of the transatlantic slave trade, even though the "trading of slaves" had ended, Racism and its various manifestations continued. So the mentality that the slave was Sub human continued socially and institutionally.
This is in stark contrast to the "slaves" of Islam, who were, since the start of the Last prophet sent from God, of the highest ranks in society.
- Slaves as Royalty, Leaders and Rulers within the Islamic cultural continent
Examples of these are many, but some notable ones are :
-Qutb bin Aybek - Delhi sultan - a Fearless leader
-Mohammad Ali Pasha - Ruler of Egypt - of Illyrian origins
-Mahmud Ghaznavi - central Asia
-The Rulers of Baghdad, Baghdad use to be one of the centres of learning in the Islamic golden age
-One of the first men to embrace Islam was Bilal of slave origins was given the high position of Muezzin "Caller to prayer" during the prophets time.
-Slaves also were and are part of Royal families within the Arab and Islamic world. to this day
- Through divide and rule strategy the slave trading European Empires processed slavery more efficiently for. Even in the case of indirect Slavery, When Africans were enslaving Africans they were doing this in part via their sponsors who were the European Empires.
- We as Muslims cannot apologise for every ruler or Kings actions, as in the case of certain leaders in Islamic history, since Not every Muslim follows what islam preaches.
The Media labels "Arab" slavery as "islamic" but not "European" slavery as "Christian". So via misinformation Every wrong and injustice a ruler of sultan done is marked as being from Islam.

Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman
Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman: The people used to ask Allah's Apostle about good, but I used to ask him about evil for fear
that it might overtake me. Once I said, "O Allah's Apostle! We were in ignorance and in evil and Allah has bestowed upon us the
present good; will there by any evil after this good?"
He said, "Yes."
I asked, "Will there be good after that evil?"
He said, "Yes, but it would be tained with Dakhan (i.e. Little evil)."
I asked, "What will its Dakhan be?"
He said, "There will be some people who will lead (people) according to principles other than my tradition.
You will see their actions and disapprove of them."
I said, "Will there by any evil after that good?"
He said, "Yes, there will be some people who will invite others to the doors of Hell, and whoever accepts their invitation to it will be thrown in it (by them)."
I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Describe those people to us."
He said, "They will belong to us and speak our language"
I asked, "What do you order me to do if such a thing should take place in my life?"
He said, "Adhere to the group of Muslims and their Chief."
I asked, "If there is neither a group (of Muslims) nor a chief (what shall I do)?"
He said, "Keep away from all those different sects, even if you had to bite (i.e. eat) the root of a tree, till you meet Allah while you are still in that state."

(Realm of the Spirits, and God)
in the secular world empirical science has the taken precedence over logic in all forms in conducting life. It is placed at such a high pedestal that other forms of thought or philosophy are automatically deemed inferior in contrast.
ironically, ibnul-Haytham (see Islamic Golden age) has been credited with the modern Scientific Method !
In Psychiatry some "revolutionary" Psychologists, have treated Schizophrenia without Medication (David Gill, Channel 4) contradicting scientific norm and practice deemed controversial and un-recognized by the scientific community.
Similarly more free thinking physicians are recommending natural forms of healing practice such as Accupuncture and Herbal medicines. A recognition of "Alternative" therapies is taking place and not as easily dismissed (as once was) as Mumbo-Jumbo !
Does this illustrates a "rigidity" in thought within the scientific field and the restriction of research into "alternative" methods and treatments.
What has God and Spiritual Realm have to do with all of this?
Well, can the Experiences in the natural world such as Exorcism make us come Closer to the understanding of the "transcendental" that of God ? Spirits, jinns, ghosts, poltergeist, demonic-possessions are something of a reality. For many people even a daily occurrence in some parts of the East.
Many occurrence of these phenomena have been documented, humans exhibiting un-human-like strength, unexplained voices and movements have been witnessed by Untold numbers. Although the "Science" in the Study of the Spirit realm is contained within religions.
As for premonitions and true dreams experienced by many be a proof again for the transcendental... ?
The explanations, interpretations and study of just theses two phenomena are all contained within Islam. But what is the scientific answer to this for the worshiper of "Science" ? It's a simple one, because the scientific method cannot be applied to it, it is not "truth". So for the worshiper of science he will dismiss it, because it contradicts his "principles" that of the "scientific" method ! And he will stick to it "Religiously" since he sees "Science" that of ALL ENCOMPASSING TRUTH !
So is human-kind left devoid in something > ? Not contemplating, ignoring, the spiritual Realm and its Relationship with the Almighty, whilst sticking to the "scientific method" religiously and unreservedly dismissing other than it as Dogma.
Islam has a principle which in Arabic is called "Fitra" A principle that states that we all are born with a"natural" disposition in recognizing a creator i.e. it is within us ! And isn't it a wonderful thing that all of humanity could agree on one thing? that might be of recognizing a Creator ! Unanimously ...
All of this maybe again dismissed by the science worshiper and he may try to fit the "Evolution" argument even to this principle (and many others) and again dismiss all that which cannot be falsified via empirical measurement. Since falsifiable evidence is "Truth" and other that deemed to be fairy tales.
And how does the Science worshiper come to reason with the "Miracle" phenomena ? The documented Miracles of the prophets such as those of Jesus and Muhammad and the Quran see http://www.theinimitablequran.com/ ? All are strongly rejected with all possible explanations since there is a deeper problem that of admitting a single miracle will be to shatter the principle that "Science" can explain everything and life itself ..

Apreciating the beauty of Nature (Dawkins)
One of Dawkins main argument in his "God Delusion" is that being an Atheist makes one appreciate living, the here and now, in one of his documentaries he ends by walking and seeing Nature and the mountains.. he undermines the spiritualist in making the atheist superior in appreciating "the finer" things and the "theist" not so...
Let us see how Dawkins' argument can be used against him for the "Theist" (believer in God)
- Appreciating the creation is an instinct for the theist because he appreciates the beauty of the Creator. this is similar to appreciating a beautiful artwork by a master craftsmen knowing that the piece of work was planned, crafted and had a purpose...
Surely, how can the atheist appreciate the world around us by knowledge that it was an atomical accident ? .. Appreciating something is to have knowledge of the purpose behind what was created ... That is why appreciating beauty and nature in its context is done in a finer way by the Theist..
- Life is a struggle and is War
Surely life is a struggle, having the knowledge of Gods mercy and Justice in the after life and this Life for all crimes committed, and ones that live in poverty is a Something that brings tranquility to ones life of a Theist. Seeking retribution in this life, andcoping with the troubles, hardships, will never be something which is always hoped to be obtained in this life because God is justice and God is Mercy, so true Justice and Mercy will always be attained in the End...
But what for the "Atheist".. maybe they see all the injustices, poverty etc. around and have the view that "I am so lucky, i haven't been affected" This is how dawkins put it. "How lucky am I" .... isn't this a purely individualistic and selfish position .....
This is a small piece in exposing dawkins ignorance and extremity in worshipping Science. For him, Science is the guide for morality, tranquility and justice. And even going against the subculture in looking for true happiness via spirituality and God consciesness.
Let us see how Dawkins' argument can be used against him for the "Theist" (believer in God)
- Appreciating the creation is an instinct for the theist because he appreciates the beauty of the Creator. this is similar to appreciating a beautiful artwork by a master craftsmen knowing that the piece of work was planned, crafted and had a purpose...
Surely, how can the atheist appreciate the world around us by knowledge that it was an atomical accident ? .. Appreciating something is to have knowledge of the purpose behind what was created ... That is why appreciating beauty and nature in its context is done in a finer way by the Theist..
- Life is a struggle and is War
Surely life is a struggle, having the knowledge of Gods mercy and Justice in the after life and this Life for all crimes committed, and ones that live in poverty is a Something that brings tranquility to ones life of a Theist. Seeking retribution in this life, andcoping with the troubles, hardships, will never be something which is always hoped to be obtained in this life because God is justice and God is Mercy, so true Justice and Mercy will always be attained in the End...
But what for the "Atheist".. maybe they see all the injustices, poverty etc. around and have the view that "I am so lucky, i haven't been affected" This is how dawkins put it. "How lucky am I" .... isn't this a purely individualistic and selfish position .....
This is a small piece in exposing dawkins ignorance and extremity in worshipping Science. For him, Science is the guide for morality, tranquility and justice. And even going against the subculture in looking for true happiness via spirituality and God consciesness.
Ignorant Perceptions of a Muslim
Many Atheists make a mistake in how they perceive a Muslim in their belief ... And this has been encountered by me many a time ...
1) They think the Muslim is blind following his religion.
2) They view Islam similar to Buddhism, in that the Muslim is following the Rituals of Islam for the sake of the Ritual itself, not understanding the reason why the ritual is followed or appreciating that it is for a higher reason, i.e. the transcendental (God).
3) They do not understand the reasons for following the religion
4) They think that religion is all dogma, i.e. statements with no substance and no reason.
5) They think all religion is the same, and there are 1000's of them. But Surely in one country India, it as 1000 languages, and a thousand religions but they all belong to a handful of Language families and one religion.
6) They look at the ritual itself, for example, Fasting, and think to themselves, i could never be a Muslim because i could never do that... not understanding that the ritual itself should never be a reason for following Islam or becoming a Muslim.
Many atheists fall short in contemplating Religion falling short and staying ignorant in the gateway to the Afterlife (Religion) and therefore they have fallen short in Life itself.

how does the environment affect us ?
Salaried company workers often view and have the desire for promotion and a higher grade, Similarly factory workers follow the same path in principle, have the same ambitions, consumed by the reality that is the factory world the mentality, rhetoric, culture and ambitions of fellow factory workers ....
Partaking in the rhetoric and argumentations, and politics ... that consumes one so that "it" becomes the reality "the world" one lives in ... thereby excluding the bigger picture, whatever that maybe ...
We can apply this principle essentially to almost any situation .... That is the environments effects.....
the reflexive philosophy can be applied here and is interesting in that you are creating the world around you and it is creating you - and at the same time becoming consumed by it .... this affects intellect, philosophy and way of life of the "subject"....
The Environment has an effect that is immense, and by not responding to it, blindly walking through, not criticizing it, one can be part of the machinations, the problems and propaganda ...
So to briefly summarize, the Environment can be something dangerous if blindly accepted, we can unknowingly be consumed by it, accepting the status quo. Our vision, goals and philosophy of life can easily be restricted, a narrow path followed .... Just as the examples of the Factory worker and salaried employee ....
